Fine Bisque Antique Reproduction Dolls

Welcome to "Bisque Beauties"!  

My name is Suzanne McBrayer and I love dolls.  I've collected them for years.  Somewhere along the way in my doll collecting, I came upon those lovely French and German bisque dolls that can be so expensive.  Unable to afford them, but still appreciating their beauty and desirability, I decided to reproduce them.

That decision to reproduce antique dolls was over ten years ago.  Today, with instruction from excellent teachers, close study of the original antique dolls, constant practice in painting, and lots of patience, I feel that I am beginning to create really fine reproduction dolls.

One of the things that has really helped me in creating fine reproductions of antique bisque dolls has been the doll friends who have shared their collections with me.  Because my friends share their valuable dolls with me, I can see "up close and personal" how a Jumeau or a Bru Jeune is painted.  I can work to match the lovely coloring on a K*R117 Mein Leibling.  Having original dolls to work from can make all the difference in the final product.
